The Gold Coast Summer Classic is official and this blog's author missed cashing by 700 points ($7.00 of winnings). Finish of 68th (19,600 points)out of a field of 301 contestants was accomplished with a strong closing day of 14,100 points.
My "Bad Beat" was not as bad as one of my table mates, who finished 51st (1 place from the money) by 28 points or $.28 of winnings!!!
On a better note, another table mate took home 4th place, congrats to Tom W.
Had a great time at the tourney, great table with Tom, Matt, Pat, Henry.

Hilton SuperBook Saturday = Super 2nd
2nd place in July 30th Hilton Superbook Saturday for $267 !!!

Day 3 complete for the Gold Coast Summer Classic.
Entered the day with 5,520 points in. 259 th place.
As indicated yesterday, " bombs away". 15 bets today @ 10-1 or better
Had a good day with 2 wins @ 10-1, 18-1 odds and 3 places @ 35-1, 18-1, 37-1 odds
As of 2:05 pm PDT was in second place for daily money
On the "bubble" for tourney money.
Also decided to play the Las Vegas Hilton Super Saturday tourney with 6 picks from my morning handicapping. 6 selections resulted in 4 wins.
Awaiting final results in the Hilton Sportsbook with a Miller Lite while writing this blog entry on the iPhone.

Tough Day in the Desert - Gold Coast - Day 1
4:44 on Thursday in Vegas at 104 Degrees !!!
Wish my handicapping @ the Summer Classic would have been as hot. Still great to be in a tournament environment and in Vegas.
Cashed in 3 races(out of 15) on the first day of the tournament. 1 Win & 2 place bets. Good news were the odds for those 3 cashes were decent (7, 5, 10)
301 entries into the tourney this year compared to 380 in 2010.
Back at it on Friday with 8 tracks to select winners from (Monmouth, Ellis, Calder, Woodbine, Louisiana Downs, Saratoga, Arlington, Del Mar)
